Our story

Four generations of barbers.
One family, one chair.

Cuts & Styles by Duran has stood on Main Street in downtown Garland since 1994 — run by the Mendez family, with barbering in their blood going back four generations. Some of our regulars have been sitting in the same chair for over twenty years. That's not marketing. That's just how it went.

Since 1994, on Main Street

The shop opened in 1994 and never moved. Marcial Mendez — known around Garland as Duran, a master barber — and his son Abner run the chairs today, carrying on a trade the family has practiced for four generations. When you walk in, there's a real chance the owner is the one cutting your hair.

The work is custom, every time. Tell us what you want, or show us a picture — and you'll see it come out right while you're still in the chair, not after you've paid and left. Every men's cut finishes with a hot-towel straight-razor neck shave, the way it's supposed to.

And we're more than a men's barbershop. It's a full salon too — women's cuts, color, highlights, perms, blowouts, and kids' cuts — so the whole family can come to one place they already trust. The barbershop Garland has trusted since 1994.

We honor our hours

When the sign says open, we're open. Walk in during hours and there's a chair for you — we don't close early.

The promise

“It looked exactly the way I wanted it to — and I could see it while I was still in the chair.”

Walk in on Main Street or call ahead. Thirty years in, we still treat every cut like our name's on it — because it is.
