Our story

Small clinic, big heart.

Mercy Animal Clinic opened in Garland in 2013 with a simple idea: give pets and their people the kind of attentive, honest, affordable care that a big corporate practice can't. More than a decade later, a small tight-knit team still greets your pet by name.

Meet Dr. Rick Hamlin, DVM

A Texas A&M graduate (Class of ’86), Dr. Hamlin has cared for the animals of the Dallas area for nearly four decades. He founded Mercy Animal Clinic in 2013 to practice medicine the way he believes it should be practiced — unhurried, transparent, and genuinely compassionate.

He's also a well-known advocate for animal rescue, working alongside 501(c)(3) organizations across Dallas–Fort Worth to get pets healthy and into good homes. That rescue-first spirit runs through everything the clinic does, from pre-adoption counseling to the way the team handles a frightened patient.
